Your Résumé is You!
And it is no regular piece of document, which you fold it and carry in your pocket. This leads straight to the fact – Résumé is your MARKETING DOCUMENT. A perfect Résumé is the one which markets you in a FIERCELY COMPETITIVE JOB MARKET.
Very often you have heard people saying that they don’t have good salary, or the worst they have not received any call from the employer. What could be the reason behind it?
Keeping the luck factor aside – of course in life of the humans, “LADY LUCK” plays quite a crucial role –YOU DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO SHOW TO THE EMPLOYER, WHICH IS OF HIS INTEREST.
WHAT REALLY MATTERS IN FRAMING THE CAREER? “A PROFESSIONAL DOCUMENT”
Well-crafted Résumé takes you out from the Yuppie Flu Syndrome, and offers the best job in the market. It makes you the cynosure of employer.
And moreover, if you have average education all through your life, but still want to make A BIG WIN in the Job Market, make your Résumé treble times BETTER and INTERESTING to read.
During the interesting days of my career as Résumé Developer, I found many people didn’t show any serious attitude about this part of their lives- I mean having a professionally appealing Résumé.
I would honestly suggest, if you have $ 100 and option to spend it on a movie or feed the mundane desires of your girlfriend or a hippie boyfriend, don’t ever opt for any of these…
SPEND THAT AMOUNT ON BUILDING A PROFESSIONAL AND POWERFUL RE’SUME’. … And you know what I am speaking out here.
Three Critical Areas You Should Think
#1 – Don’t count the Power of your Résumé on the basis of number of pages. This is the misconception that I deliberately and repeatedly tried to break.
Professionals with 20 years of experience and from reputed institutions try to create the pulp of what all they did in college and working life. It makes their resume to 20 ODD looking pages = 1 Page @ 1 Year.
I had a client who was a teacher and she had this 40-50 pages booklet, which was called Résumé . And she hired my services to turn that 40-50 pages booklet into 15 pages … GOD SAVE ME! Next 10 days of my life were spent on explaining her best proposition to go with; UNTIL MY LAST DAMN SWEAT!
#2 – Don’t create your Résumé out of something that is ALREADY NOT YOURS ANYWAY. NO COPY AND NO PASTING. …AND DON’T BE INSPIRED, ALTHOUGH YOU CAN BE IMPRESSED MOMENTARILY.
Remember what I wrote on the top – Your Résumé is You!
If you are ready to lose your identity, don’t look for the job change or HIGH PAYING JOBS. “Remain Satisfied in What You Earn.”
…ONLY THE BEST DESERVES THE BEST…
TRY TO WORK HARD ON YOUR RE’SUME’ AND THIS CLEARLY MEANS EXPLAINING YOURSELF AND ABOUT YOUR PROFESSION THROUGH WONDERFUL CONTENT.
NO DRAMA HERE … GO BY THE PURITAN PHILOSOPHY, IF YOU KNOW IT, or better:
HIRE THE PROFESSIONAL + EXPERIENCED INDIVIDUAL.
#3- THE FORMAT… Layout Artist will do this job for you. Give this point YOUR LAST EYE! I don’t want you to spend your precious time in formatting and increasing the pages of your RE’SUME’.
