In the fast expanding and rapidly growing world of internet technology, “Writing in English,” is the passion for few, FULL-TIME/FREE-LANCING job for some, and for many, it becomes a glamorized profession. It is true that “Writing in English,” has much of glamor and excitement attached, but this wasn’t the case in the times, of World War I and the World War II. During those troubled times, “Writings in English” were done to:
- transfer messages between the allied forces, and the family members of soldiers,
- write the political manifestos, and those involved in secret service.
Amidst all these upheavals, were the popular war poets, and existentialist dramatists; introducing the world to the whole new and revolutionary form of “Literature in English.”
The name of poets such as GILBERT FRANKAU, 1884-1952; VERA MARY BRITTAIN, 1893-1970; RUPERT CHAWNER BROOKE, 1887-1915; ROBERT NICHOLS, 1893-1944; HENRY NEWBOLT, SIR, 1862-1924; WILFRED EDWARD SALTER OWEN, 1893 – 1918; JOHN OXENHAM, 1852-1941, ISAAC ROSENBERG, 1890-1918 and many more, get highlighted automatically.
Much before the 6th century, and the following centuries, “Writings in English” had the purpose, which was definitely NOT TO glamorize THE SELF and THE WORLD. These clan of writers were celebrated and had an insightful understanding of English, although many of them didn’t receive any formal education, unlike the writers of today.
Flip the times, and we cross the 21st Century, HI-Tech Writers of ENGLISH LANGUAGE; many of them are not aware of differentiation between words like: “WRITER,” “AUTHOR,” “CONTENT” and the “TEXT.” Today, most writings are done for appeasing THE CRAWLERS and the SEARCH ENGINES. If they are happy, THE WRITER becomes the ACCLAIMED WRITER, or else, training is needed. Moreover, if the “CLIENT” is HAPPY, no matter, whether the writings are falling below standards of quality, THE WRITER is STILL THE ACCLAIMED WRITER.
Writing in today’s world has become THE ONLY EASY MEANS OF EARNING INCOME, WITHOUT INVESTING HARD CASH. YOU invest your time and part of your brain.
And if you are a NATIVE WRITER, you can easily earn $ 30 to $ 100 for a trash of 500 Words. The NON-NATIVE WRITER, on the other hand, has to adjust with the currency of his or her country. But again, NON-NATIVE writers earn well too, considering the fact if bulk work comes on their table.
The whole idea which springs in this “MADNESS,” is:
WHO IS THE WRITER? WHO ISN’T? Or is it that all those who “WRITE IN ENGLISH,” become the WRITERS, and over the years of practice, these writers will become “CELEBRATED CREATIVE FUNCTIONARIES.”
Writings in “THE NEW MILLENNIUM,” are mere self-extol. “THE WRITERS,” are busy eulogizing THE SELF, without creating something for the society. The foolish thing of all is that most of them do not have the idea what they are writing on or writing for.
It is not hard to find a cheap writer for few pennies, and he or she will be writing for you just when you want, and what you want him/her to write. There are no wild guesses to make here or set your eyes rolling if you find the writer from arts background writing on the critical subjects like medicine, or physiology or anatomy, or artificial intelligence for that matter.
Lot of technical articles are written by non techie guys, and similarly, many social and literary texts are created out of nowhere by the people from technological backgrounds.
On similar structure, many “SUBJECTS OF ARTS & SOCIAL SCIENCES” are handled loosely by fraternity of engineers or technical professionals. The context in which the content is written has no linking. Such content dies its own death either at the hands of the crawlers or sensible readers.
In short, what is created is JARGON LITERATURE, which leads to UTTER CONFUSION.
IT is the HELL for the POOR HUMAN READER.
And for CRAWLERS, it is their “NATURAL ORGANIC FOOD.” What to say?
