10 Precautions to Heed to, When Writing for the Web

World of Internet Writing

Internet brought a quick way of learning, and it also dished out an offbeat source of earning, especially for the new age internet based writers. Many new young writers began to emerge, and their religion was to earn by writing for the internet. You could come across a blog written by a lad who never otherwise had English as his/her main medium of communication. And those who were already writing for the press in English language, now faced a more fertile medium to express themselves, and all of it was without gatekeepers.

Internet brought freedom of expression for the creative minds, especially through the power of writing. However, the newly found freedom did not mean that good pieces of writings in English language were being written and published online. Even if the inconsistencies in grammar were left aside, the new age internet writers did not have the power of expression. Whatever had been written, was rephrased, recooked and reoriented. The originality of content was lost somewhere, which obviously meant that quantity of serious readers and opinion makers was diminishing quickly.

In this respect, many times, doubts and respects have been raised – How to channelize internet in development and propagation of effective content?  How the clan of re-writers and re-phrasers can be won over by original thinkers? What is original writing?

But before any of these questions are answered, what lies underneath the serpent is an ever-growing need for good quality and intuitive content. Until this is not achieved, all other questions have no significance. Here are the 10 relevant precautions that any internet based writer should cling on to, for making his or her piece of write up produce effective results in short span of time:

Do not spill the beans in the first paragraph. You need to keep the readers in disbelief for at least few seconds.

Do not try to be quick enough to drive home your point. Give some reaction time to your readers.

Do not use heavy and verbose English. If you are using it to show off, you need to STOP IT NOW.  Readers are there to understand the concepts. They are not interested in knowing how good is your vocabulary.

Try to be simple and logical in whatever you are writing.

Always question the content that you are writing. Do not be BRUTE, Mr. Writer.

Do not become opinionated.

Always write what you know about. Do not try to rephrase the content from somewhere else. It will not establish you as the writer.

Everyone needs fresh food. Likewise, everyone wants fresh thoughts and concepts. If you are rephrasing, you are not doing any great work. Your thoughts are not purely yours.

Dig through the facts and present them in an understandable way.

Condition your brain and make it responsive.

Hope, you have prepared yourself to become a prolific internet writer and not a mere rephraser. Your reputation is in your hands only. Do not tarnish it.
